A 20-ton-per-hour ammonium sulfate wastewater MVR evaporation unit has been put into operation.

In August 2014, a centrifugal steam compressor manufactured by Turbovap—capable of handling 20 tons per hour of saturated steam with a temperature rise of 16°C—was officially commissioned at Baogang Steel for concentrating ammonium sulfate wastewater. From initial design to final fabrication, this model was completed in just four months, fully demonstrating Turbovap’s sophisticated design expertise and superior manufacturing capabilities in the field of centrifugal steam compressors. Thanks to extensive commissioning experience and close collaboration between our commissioning team and the equipment‑supplying manufacturers, we successfully carried out a two‑day water‑testing phase and, within one additional day, completed feed‑to‑ammonium sulfate crystallization trial runs, thereby transitioning smoothly into normal production operations. Ammonium sulfate is a common constituent of wastewater; its boiling point rises by 8°C. Using a compressor with a temperature rise of 16°C strikes a reasonable balance between energy consumption and capital investment. The ammonium sulfate produced via MVR evaporation can be sold, thereby achieving resource recycling.
