In an exclusive interview, Luo Chunlong, founder of Turbovap, provided a detailed account of the company’s founding and evolution, expressing deep pride in Turbovap’s contributions to the industry. Reflecting on the company’s origins, he explained: “Energy consumption is a critical factor for any enterprise seeking to reduce costs. Back in 2006, we learned about a technology that, until then, had been produced exclusively by foreign firms. We approached these overseas companies, intending to purchase such equipment.” However, during negotiations, the foreign suppliers not only quoted exorbitant prices but also adopted an arrogant stance—experiences that left a profound impression on Luo. “After discussions, we identified several key issues with their equipment: first, the cost was prohibitively high; second, delivery lead times were extremely long; and third, service fees were exceedingly steep. Moreover, since there was no domestic production at the time, foreign vendors tended to treat the Chinese market with a degree of condescension.” This experience prompted Luo to make a decisive choice: to develop a centrifugal steam compressor entirely designed and manufactured by Chinese engineers.
Subsequently, Chairman Luo Chunlong explained: “Turbovap is an enterprise dedicated to energy conservation and environmental protection, primarily operating in the high-end equipment manufacturing sector. In many of our chemical, pharmaceutical, and petrochemical industries, certain processes require substantial steam consumption. Over the years, we have continuously invested in R&D to develop innovative technologies aimed at progressively reducing steam—and thus energy—consumption. Currently, we employ a turbo‑boosting approach, utilizing centrifugal steam compressors, which can upgrade low‑grade steam to high‑grade steam, effectively recycling energy by adding additional power on top of its original thermal content, thereby achieving significant energy savings.”
