A 20-ton-per-hour ammonium sulfate wastewater MVR evaporation unit has been put into operation.
In August 2014, a centrifugal steam compressor manufactured by Turbovap—capable of handling 20 tons per hour of saturated steam with a temperature rise of 16°C—was officially commissioned at Baogang Steel for concentrating ammonium sulfate wastewater. From initial design to final fabrication, this model was completed in just four months, fully demonstrating Turbovap’s sophisticated design expertise and superior manufacturing capabilities in the field of centrifugal steam compressors. Thanks to extensive commissioning experience and close collaboration between our commissioning team and the equipment‑supplying manufacturers, we successfully carried out a two‑day water‑testing phase and, within one additional day, completed feed‑to‑ammonium sulfate crystallization trial runs, thereby transitioning smoothly into normal production operations. The MVR concentration system for ammonium chloride wastewater has been put into operation.
China’s first MVR concentration system for ammonium chloride wastewater, which employs a domestically produced centrifugal steam compressor, was recently put into successful operation at Wolan Chemical Co., Ltd. in Nantong, Jiangsu Province. Ammonium chloride wastewater is one of the more common types of effluent generated in industries such as chemical manufacturing and agrochemical production. Because ammonium chloride solutions have a very high boiling point—117°C at atmospheric pressure—the MVR concentration process places stringent demands on the compression ratio achievable by the steam compressor. If imported centrifugal compressors were used, the limited saturation‑steam temperature rise per unit—only about 8°C—would necessitate the installation of at least three compressors to meet MVR system requirements, significantly increasing the equipment investment costs for users.

Delivery and commissioning of multiple models of Turbovap turbines’ compressors.
Recently, Turbovap Turbomachinery has delivered another batch of centrifugal steam compressors in multiple models to customers, serving industries such as chemical wastewater treatment, pesticide‑contaminated wastewater, and plant‑extract processing. These compressors cover a broad range of flow rates and feature low temperature rise, with users spanning Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Sichuan, and other provinces. Case 1: A sugar‑alcohol producer in Zhejiang employs this compressor model in its MVR system, with an inlet air temperature of 70°C and a temperature rise of 7°C, making it well suited for concentrating heat‑sensitive materials. Case 2: A tea‑plant extract manufacturer in Sichuan uses this compressor model in its MVR system, operating at an inlet air temperature of 63°C and achieving a temperature rise of 13.5°C, ideal for concentrating heat‑sensitive substances. Case 3: A pharmaceutical company in Jiangsu utilizes this compressor in its high‑salinity wastewater MVR system.
